Truth Social app to be available via web browser ‘end of May’: CEO

Former U.S. President Donald Trump’s Truth Social app will launch on a web browser at the end of May, Chief Executive Devin Nunes saidMonday

Nunes also wrote a post on this platform saidTruth Social is not yet approved for launch on the Google Play Store for Android devices.

Nunes stated that PWA (Web Browser), will be launched by Nunes at the end of May. This will allow users to access any device from anywhere in the world. “After that we will launch an Android App… pending approval from Google!”

To scale up, the app must be available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Truth Social’s parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), launched with the mission of standing up to Big Tech, after Trump was kicked off Twitter, Facebook and YouTube for allegedly inciting or glorifying violence during the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol riots.

However, the social media venture is constrained by its dependence on Alphabet-owned Google or Apple, who operate the largest app stores in the smartphone market.

Truth Social was launched in the Apple App Store on February 21st and was the most downloaded free application there at the time. It was number two in that list on Monday.

Trump began posting on the site late Thursday, for the first time since he posted one “truth” – as posts are called – on Feb. 14.

TMTG plans to go public via a merger with the blank-check company Digital World Acquisition Corp. (DWAC). The Securities and Exchange Commission is currently reviewing the deal and it is expected to take months before it is finalized.
