Alex Candal, DIRECTV Sports reported that Lionel Messi will play for Inter Miami CF and have a 35% ownership stake. This is after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ends in June 2023.

Based on the current value of the team, that would be approximately US$225 million. According to the report, Messi would sign this deal in August.

According to French outlet Le Parisien, Messi’s camp denies the claims.

It is totally false. Leo is still not deciding on his future.”

After 16 seasons with FC Barcelona, Messi, now 34, joined PSG in the summer of 2017. He is the best player in the world, having won seven Ballon D’Or (Golden Ball) awards.

Inter Miami is in its third season of MLS. David Beckham, the co-owner of Inter Miami, posted images to his social media pages Monday showing him with PSG members in Doha (Qatar), including Messi.
