Canada’s Andrew Wiggins shining for Warriors in NBA Finals

Andrew Wiggins’ critics focused on what they believed he was not.
They weren’t motivated enough to be No. They were not motivated enough to be the No. said. They argued that they were not good enough to be an All Star starter.
One more win for the Golden State Warriors, and all that will count is Wiggins: a NBA champion.
Wiggins has been a major reason why the Warriors have won two straight games and are now leading 3-2 into Game 6. Canada’s forward had 17 points and a record-breaking 16 rebounds in Game 4. He then added 26 points and 13 boards to his total.
Before the two biggest games of his career, Wiggins had only once recorded consecutive double-doubles.
Wiggins: “It’s always great to be able to show what you can do and what you worked for.” said. “So I’m just glad to be here on stage and help my team win.”
Even those who wanted Wiggins dismissed had to admit that he was able to score. The No. The No. However, that didn’t translate into winning. Minnesota made only one playoff appearance during his time there. It was easy to wonder what else there was to Wiggins game.
Steve Kerr is amazed at how well Wiggins bounces back. Defense: The 6-foot-7 Wiggins has done a great job, taking on the difficult assignments of keeping Dallas All-Star LukaDoncic at bay in the Western Conference finals. He is now facing Jayson Tatum (Celtics swingman) and Jaylen brown (Celtics swingman).
It’s a versatility Warriors say they knew they had, no matter how little others noticed.
DraymondGreen said that he has taken on every challenge we’ve put before him and that’s been tremendous. said. “And we need his help to win one more.”
After Wiggins’s loss to Kansas in the 2014 NCAA Tournament, he was skeptical about Wiggins’s future in the NBA. He scored just four points. He only took six shots, which was a poor effort that raised questions about his willingness to work hard when things weren’t going his way.
They acquired Wiggins and a first-round selection when they traded D’Angelo Russell from Minnesota in February 2020. Wiggins performed well enough to be voted to begin his first All-Star Game, but that didn’t bring him the accolades he deserved. Wiggins was seen as a player who had been miscast in the No. 1 spot. Wiggins was considered the No. 1 player in Minnesota. His success for Golden State was due to the fact that he wasn’t being placed under such a heavy burden by Curry.
Despite Curry’s struggles in Game 5, Wiggins looked every inch the main man, missing all nine 3-point attempts.
If the Warriors win, Curry will likely remain the NBA Finals MVP. Wiggins at least made it a topic and not a foregone conclusion.
Curry: “It’s amazing how you can use opportunity.” said. “Let’s forget about the comparisons and the stories that surround him as a No. His first six years in the league were his best. There’s a reason why we wanted him there. We made the trade because it was right. It was high that he would be capable of figuring it out at this level, in terms scoring ability, athleticism, and defensive potential.
