Baby rocker, swing recalled over strangulation hazard

Health Canada has recalled two products for infants manufactured by 4moms.

Health Canada has announced that certain MamaRoo baby swings will be recalled along with RockaRoo baby rockers.

According to the recall notice, the recall affects MamaRoo infant swing sets that use a 3-point harness (models 4M-005, 1026, and 1037).

Health Canada states that the recall does not cover MamaRoo’s MamaRoo model, which uses a 5-point harness.

The RockaRoo baby-rocker model number for the affected RockaRoo is 4M-012. These model numbers are located at the bottom.

Both products have restraint straps that can dangle below the seat, and infants who are not seated can become “entangled in the straps, posing a strangulation hazard,” Health Canada said The recall notice.

“This issue does not present a hazard to infants placed in the seat of either product,” the agency noted.

The recall states that no reports of injury or strangulation have been submitted to the company since Aug. 9.

“Consumers with infants who can crawl should immediately stop using the recalled products and place them in an area where crawling infants cannot access,” reads This statement.

Consumers who purchased one of these products may register online at 4moms or by calling 877-870-7290. 4moms will mail a fastener and instructions to the consumer after they have done this.
