First lady Jill Biden tests positive for COVID

First lady Jill Biden was positive for COVID-19, according to the White House said Tuesday.

The first lady, who is double-vaxxed and boosted, returned a positive PCR test after developing “cold-like symptoms” Monday evening, according to a statement Elizabeth Alexander, her spokesperson.

The White House said that President Biden had tested negative on Tuesday morning for COVID-19, and would wear a mask for 10 consecutive days indoors and out of reach of others because he is a close personal contact with his wife.

President Obama was due to return to Washington Tuesday afternoon to sign the $737 Billion Inflation Reduction Act. He will then continue to Delaware.

Jill’s positive test was discovered by the first family, who were vacationing in South Carolina.

It was not immediately clear whether the first lady’s positive test would impact those plans.

Jill Biden will stay at her South Carolina home, where the first family was vacationing, until she is given two consecutive negative COVID results.

She has mild symptoms. The White House said.
